Who am I?

As an Ojibwe woman working across Turtle Island, my positionality shapes a research practice grounded in respect, reciprocity, and Indigenous sovereignty. I approach all work with humility, recognizing that Indigenous knowledge is a relational gift that must be shared only with permission and in alignment with community protocols. Aware of the harms of colonial research, I prioritize community-led collaboration, mutual benefit, and the right of communities to guide or withdraw participation at any time. At the same time, I attend to my own holistic well-being through reflection, boundaries, and care, acknowledging the personal impacts of the work I do. Guided by Indigenous teachings and ethical accountability, I strive to challenge extractive research practices and contribute to decolonizing education and scholarship in ways that are meaningful, sustainable, and beneficial for future generations.
